Fair Oaks Horticulture Center

Fair Oaks, CA 95628
The Fair Oaks Horticulture Center was established in 1998 as a Sacramento County UC Cooperative Extension project. Collaborators include the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District, who graciously provides the land, water, and electricity, and the Regional Water Authority.
UCCE Master Gardeners of Sacramento County maintain the one-acre center and hold periodic workshops (see the schedule). The Center includes a water-efficient landscape demonstration, an orchard (including "fruit bushes"), a table grape vineyard, berries (blueberries and cane berries), a vegetable demonstration garden, an herb garden, and a compost and vermiculture demonstration area.
The Water Efficient Landscape gardens are open to the public every day throughout the year. The edible landscape areas are open only during workshops and open garden days.
At our January workshop, the Sacramento County Master Gardeners show how to prune just about everything. Come to open garden days and go at your own pace through the various Horticulture Center areas. Watch demonstrations. Ask us about problems in your garden and we'll give you answers and advice. And don't miss Harvest Day held the first Saturday in August!
