Home Reforestation: Establishment of Landscape Trees

Sacramento has been called the “City of Trees” since the mid-1850s and is among the top 10 urban forests in the country. UC Master Gardener Pam Bone will help us navigate the best tree planting and care techniques.

“In my presentation, I will discuss what to look for in new trees and the best ways to care for them to establish a healthy, beautiful tree for years to come,” she says. “Trees are a long-term investment that provide significant benefits for our mental and physical health, the value of our homes and neighborhoods, and help conserve energy.”

Pam has been an Urban Horticulture & Urban Forestry Farm Advisor and was the first program coordinator for UC Master Gardeners, Sacramento County.

She is an award-winning, well-known, and highly respected speaker on a variety of gardening and landscaping topics. She has a degree in plant science from UC Davis and majored in pomology at Washington State University.

She has been a frequent guest on gardening radio shows and podcasts, a featured speaker at home and garden shows, and you may remember her as co-host of PBS KVIE 6’s long-running program, “Grassroots Guide to Yard Care.”
